    PhotoStory Friday
    Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek
Stop by and check out the other great stories being told!
Maybe you can even create one of your own!

Before I start, I wanted to say THANK YOU to all of you who were so supportive and outraged on my behalf yesterday when I posted about being mistaken for the grandmother of a 30ish-year-old woman! I have to say this type of support is one of the best things about blogging! And believe me, I need the support because my husband’s reaction (after he got down wiping the tears from his eyes after laughing so hard) was to remind me that this was NOT the first time I was mistaken for a grandmother.

A year ago on vacation (yes…we go on a lot of vacations … it is our “thing”), a woman asked the Little One “Are you having a fun time with grandma today?” I could have punched her! And since you asked, my reaction yesterday was stunned disbelief followed almost immediately by the thought “This will make a great blog post” to laughter. I think the lady corrected the nurse right away (probably along the lines of “I don’t even know that woman”) and the nurse slunk away to the back of the office–never to be seen again. Needless to say, I’m looking for a new pediatrician.

So, now I can proceed with the post. If you are regular reader, you’ll know we just got back from a Caribbean cruise. My shutterbug husband took 1,800 photos so I’ve been going through them all this week to find some of the best to share. If you want to see even more photos (especially of the ship’s interior), you can visit my husband’s cruise photo albums on Webshots. (Photos from our other cruises can be found there too.) On this cruise, we sailed on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Jewel out of Miami, with stops at the Grand Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico. So, without further ado, here are our cruise vacation photos! Hope you enjoy!

The Norwegian Jewel – Our Home for 5 Days
It was a lovely ship — the Webshots albums give you a tour of our cabin and the public areas.

    Deck Chairs
I just really liked the way my husband took this photo. Good job, hon!

    View from Our Balcony
I love the reflection in the windows. Looks like a mirror image.

    Ship At Sea 1
I just love this photo. It has such a lonely feel to it. And I love the rays of sun coming down — I always think of this type of light as “God light.”

    Ship At Sea 2
You can just see that the sun is ready to burst out from those clouds! I also like the contrast of the blue sky at the top and the hazy yellow sky at the bottom. And again, I love the ship in the background. I always enjoy looking for other ships when sailing.

    Ship at Sea 3
This is my favorite photo that my husband took during the whole cruise. I think he should enter it in some kind of contest, don’t you?

    Sunset
Of the 100s of sunset and sunrise photos, this was my favorite. It is so vivid and I love the dramatic shape of the clouds in the foreground. Watching the sunsets is one of our favorite cruise activities. My husband watches the sunrises … but I prefer to sleep!

The Little One Going Down The Water Slide
I posted a photo of me going down the water slide the other day so I’ll spare you that one again.

The Main Pool Area At Night
I tell you, those people swimming must have been freezing because once the sun went down, it was quite windy and chilly!

    Fun With Slow Shutter Speeds
I hope Blogger prints these photos side by side so you can see the cool effects of slow shutter speeds.

Towel Animals! The Best Part of Any Cruise!
Finding the day’s towel animal on the bed is the Little One’s favorite part of the day. This guy had some little chocolate eyes but the chocolates were eaten before my husband could take the photo. The Little One doesn’t waste any time!

Hubby and the Little One Freezing in Cozumel, Mexico
We went to a great little beach resort (Paradise Beach) while in Cozumel but the water wasn’t too warm. Luckily, I had a cold so I didn’t’ have to go swimming in the water … I just lounged in the beach chairs and blew my nose.

Feeling a Bit Better After A Tequila Sunrise
    Heyyyyyy….I’m Fonzie!

Hubby Getting Tequila Poured Straight Into His Mouth
This was one of the perks of the very easy-going Paradise Beach area. They walk around and pour tequila into anyone’s mouth who wants it. Hubby was quick to accept the offer!

    A Cayman Islands Sign
Unlike so many of the Caribbean ports, the Cayman Islands are pretty well off. You don’t feel guilty walking around while you see poverty all around you.

A “Yield” Sign in the Cayman Islands
I always like how other countries have much nicer signs than in the U.S. My all-time favorite sign was in the London Underground where it says “Mind the Gap” instead of “Watch Your Step.” Just a much nicer and interesting way to say the same thing.

Returning to Miami in the Morning
The Little One and I were sleeping while hubby took this early morning shot as we pulled into port. I just love this photo.

    The Miami Port
Another shot of the working side of the port while arriving. The quality of this photo makes everything look a little surreal and like little models or something.

    Taxis At the Port
I know, I know … out of 1,800 vacation photos, I pick one of the taxis waiting outside the port? What can I say, there is just something I really like about this photo.

View Out The Airplane Window As We Fly Home
I always like photos showing what it looks like from an airplane and this one came out pretty good.

And so he doesn’t complain, all photos (except for the two of him) were taken by my amazingly talented photographer of a husband. He fought hard for his digital SLR, and he has earned it!

Those were awesome pictures of your cruise experience. I wish I can go back again on a vacation in a cruise line. It is so much fun but its a little bit expensive to be paying for a week of tour.. Need to save up more.

      Hi Fonzie!
      Oops! I mean Jenner!
      What a "Grandma" story!
Course it's only funny when it happens to someone else, huh?!

I have 3 grown kids & 3 granddolls, as well as our baby, a 14 yr old daughter. When I talk about our youngest dd and the granddaughters I can see people doing the math in their head. Sooo funny! Sometimes I just let them wonder.

      Loved all the photos.
      What a great cruise experience!

I'm new, so please stop by Blog to say Hello. I love to have new Followers. I'm following you now, so I'll be back!!

And I can’t believe anyone thinks you’re grandma, you have such nice skin. I don’t think you look old! What is wrong with people?

I love all of the shots. Very artsy. If I haven’t mentioned it before, which I am sure I have, I am so jealous.

And hey, they didn’t pour tequila shots in our mouth when we went to Paradise Beach! I feel gipped!

Cruising is one of the best vacations ever! I’ve been to Cozumel twice and loved all the wonderful shopping and beaches there. It’s been four years, however, since I was last there. Was there still a lot of construction going on when you were there?

And man, you guys saw some incredible scenery. I’m glad you got lots of support in regards to the psychotic nurse. Jenners, you look like a cool, hip mama!
