• Help! Stephenie Meyer Has Hijacked Me

So the Twilight “saga” has completely taken over my reading life. Sad to say but it is true. I burned through New Moon (Quick Summary: Edward leaves Bella. Bella is oh so sad. Blah blah blah blah blah blah werewolves blah blah blah. Bella and Edward get back together.)

Then I devoured Eclipse during our weekend visit to New York City. (Quick Summary: Bella brings everyone together. Lots of Bella and Edward.) I’m supposed to wait for my friend to give me Breaking Dawn (we had a complicated system of borrowing, buying and lending to get both of us all four books) but I’m too impatient to wait for her to get done so I downloaded it on my Kindle this morning. (And how cool that I could buy it and start reading it while sitting in the doctor’s office? I tell you…get a Kindle!)

So now all that stands between me and the end of the saga is 700 some pages. Thank goodness these books are fast and easy to read. I just need to know what happens. And, I’ll confess, I’m a little hung up on Edward Cullen. (There, I said it. I’m pathetic. I know this and I DON’T CARE.)

As I’ve read, I beginning to see the flaws in the books. The writing really isn’t that good. What is good is how I can put myself in Bella’s place and have Edward love me. I thought New Moon was kind of a drag because Edward wasn’t in it for most of the book. Eclipse was definitely better — and I better get the payoff I am expecting in Breaking Dawn. But I’ve been warned … I know many have been disappointed.

So just a quick note to let you know I am alive. I have some cool books to show you that I got in New York City. I have two cool giveaways to tell you about. And I have other non-Twilight books to review. So as soon as Ms. Meyer releases me, I will be back and more focused. But until then, I’m in the middle of a wedding….

And oh yeah…I’m starting to come around on the decision to cast Robert Pattison as Edward. Thanks largely in part to these photos.

My daughter has read the saga many times over. So the books are right there, waiting for me, on her shelves. Just haven’t gotten to it yet … we’ll see you when you come up for air! :)

Yes there is something so addictive about these books! And, ok, I admit it I’m also in the Edward camp :)

I haven’t gotten to Breaking Dawn yet just because I was a bit disappointed with the writing in the third book. One of these days I’ll get to it.

I have to admit- I don’t get the Edward Cullen thing. He is just not attractive to me. Well, at least we won’t be fighting over the same hot guys, right? ;)

I gave you an award, dear friend. You can pick it up here: http://imlostinbooks.blogspot.com/2009/04/i-feel-awards-love.html

Serena gave my daughter an Edward poster, which she gazes at lovingly and defends by saying she’s growing up and it’s time to put movie stars on her walls. LOL What’s even funnier is that I was hoping she wouldn’t want it and I could hang it on my wall. Hee hee

I agree about the books, though. They provide some mindless entertainment, though the writing isn’t great.

See, New Moon was my favorite BECAUSE Edward wasn’t in it much – I am totally on Team Jacob!!

Oh — you are so funny!

I did read Twilight for my youngest daughter, who is absolutely obsessed with this series and wanted me to “try” it. While I did not think it was horrible, romantic vampire stories are just not my cup of tea.

I am glad that you are having such fun! I anxiously await your return from the 700 page saga :)

Hahaha your in the same place that I was this summer. For an entire week all I did was ‘Twilight’. My favorite part in Eclipse is when Jacob actually uses the word ‘Eclipse’.

“The clouds I can handle, but I can’t fight with an eclipse” (referring to Edward) I think that quote pretty much sums up the appeal of the whole book. Everyone (especially teenage girls) is looking for that kind of love, that eclipses everything else. Just my thoughtssss.

And you should definitely check out the link about me, her draft. I didn’t think it was possible to love Edward more and then I read this haha.

When you finish you should check this link:

It is Twilight told from Edward’s POV.

You are totally hooked! Glad that you are enjoying the series. Every time you mention the Kindle, I look over to hubby and try to drop some hints. So far, he’s not budging. I think I would love one!!

Ooooh… aren’t the addictive?! Edward is like a drug.. a gorgeous, blood-sucking drug.
Yes, I think I will have to revist Forks very soon.

Have fun at the wedding. Edward is an object to obsess over and rightly so. Believe me when I tell you that you are not the only one…Anna’s 8-year-old daughter is obsessed with him as well. Anna and I are no exceptions.
