This and That and The Other Thing

The premiere of The Amazing Race is coming on soon so I don’t have a lot of time to write a post but I wanted to tell you a few things.
- Go see Up in the Air starring my new boyfriend George Clooney. Mr. Jenners and I saw it over the weekend, and it was really good. Very funny but devastatingly sad too. A real “grown-up” film that I wish they made more often. I’m giving it four thumbs up! (Two from me and two from Mr. Jenners.)
- Mr. Jenners came through in a big way for Valentine’s Day … while I ended up looking like a thoughtless asshole. We had planned to have a night away in a hotel for the two of us, and I was under the impression that this was our Valentine’s Day gift to each other. But then Mr. Jenners ALSO gave me my favorite chocolate caramels, a card and a $50 gift certificate to Amazon so I could buy new books. (Yes … I have a book buying ban for 2010 but NOT IF THEY ARE GIFTS and the gift certificate clearly stated that it was for me to buy books with.) And what did I get Mr. Jenners? Nothing, nada, zip, zero, zilch. I felt like SUCH A JERK!
- If you live in the NYC area, I can offer you a $10 discount on admission to the 3rd Annual New York Wine Expo. Just use the code LITTLEONES when you register. Why can I do this? I don’t know, but I got this e-mail about it and I thought I’d put it out there for anyone who is interested.
I feel so official being able to offer you a “code.” If this is something you might enjoy, feel free to use my “code.” Can I say once again how much I enjoy being able to offer you “a code” for your own use? Don’t say I never give you anything!

hmmmm. I wish I was going to be in NY
That movie sounds good. My husband never knows what to get me, so I usually get an apology
Way to go Mr. Jenners! I got a new telephoto lens from my husband and he got a box of chocolates… so I kind of know how you feel!
Anything with Clooney is OK in my book.. Swoon!
That's too bad, but it sounds like it was a misunderstanding, and I'm sure he enjoyed getting to shower you with gifts. I think Valentine's is one of the hardest holidays for women to buy gifts for men. What are we supposed to get them, man lingerie?
My husband and I got tickets to the John Mayer concert in March for our birthdays, but I figured he won't be able to resist buying me something (and vice versa) so I preemptively set a price limit for our gifts.
Dang, I'm on the wrong coast to use your CODE.
Hope your Valentines Day was fun anyway!
I SOOO WISH i lived near to there.
Then you could code me.
*sad face

I've heard that movie is good. I'll have to wait for Netflix and hope for an afternoon alone to watch it. Congrats on the great Valentine's Day.
Valentines double standard – T Rex Dad and I agreed no gifts this year – cards only. I woke up yesterday to roses and a Princess Leia/Han Solo card. I only had my super serious card. I felt like a loser. Now if it were the other way around, he would have been grumpy with me for getting him flowers. Is this some man/woman thing?
I watched The Amazing Race last night! I LOVE that show!
I'm pretty sure you gave Mr. Jenners his proper due for those valentine's goodies.
That undoes the asshole thing.
You can make it up to Mr. J. by celebrating a DIFFERENT February holiday for him! Tell him he is TOO GOOD for holidays that all the REST of the women celebrate because he is more SPECIAL! There are some good possibilities coming up:
February 18: Drink Wine Day
February 19: National Chocolate Mint Day
February 20: National Cherry Pie Day
February 21: National Sticky Bun Day
February 22: National Margarita Day
…
February 27: National Kahlua Day
February 28: National Chocolate Soufflé Day
LOL I'm so proud you got a "code" and got to share it! Isn't it fun?
I LOVED Amazing Race even though I had to wait for it to come online being cable-less. I was so excited that Jeff & Jordon won at the first pitstop!! Yay!! I like Nana too…71 and still going strong! So cool
I think it's awesome that you have a mister who will support your book-buying addiction, haha. Too cute!
I so want to see Up in the Air! we watched District 9 over the weekend (up for an award too) and loved it!
Well HAPPY VD to you, huh? I hope you made his day special too (wink, wink)!
After being so spoiled on valentine's, you owe mr. jenners a big gift on the next holiday.
Congrats on getting new books!
I was debating that movie..mmm just didnt know if it would be worth it…after your review..Ill give it a chance….Im glad you had a great VD…we were going to go out but hubs cooked instead..and that is a real pleasure…I hate cooking after 24 years of it..then we gave our dinner money to the kids to get out of the house..and we had more fun..Woo Hoo..! I would take that code for wine but i dont think Ill get a chance to go..I will look into it any way..thanks..!
Talk about having a blog that's up to code!! Wow. Impressive. Maybe it will be the start of a trend.
As for Mr. Jenners. Maybe he was just making up for pouting about George Clooney. If you really want to make it up to him, maybe you can think of 50 small ways to bring a smile to his face; 50 days of small, wonderful gestures… like a 50-second hug or 50 kisses on each finger, toe and an additional 10 spots of your choosing. How about ironing his underwear for a special day (my mother did that for over 50 years of marriage) or shining his shoes just once? Think of it as Lent+10.
I do really want to see that movie. Glad to here its good.
And I also really want to go to that wine expo.
Ah well, sharing that code probably means you aren't a selfish jerk.
You can also claim that it was a deliberate ploy just so Mr Jenners can feel smug and self satisfied for a while.
Ah don't feel bad, my husband is a thoughtless asshole every year. LOL. No seriously, I doubt he cared, it's sort of more of a girl's holiday anyway. After all, we are the ones who give birth, the least they can do is buy a gift every Feb 14.
And yay for you guys having a fancy night out! Lucky!
Thank goodness you explained the 4 thumbs… I might've thought you were a freak!
I put that movie on my zip list. I was concerned that it wouldn't be good but I put it on the list anyway. I'm glad to hear a positive review of it. Thanks!
