• Haircut Update and a HUGE Thank You

    by  • 03/28/2010 • Life • 37 Comments

So remember back in February when I got my horrible haircut? Well, one month later, it is finally where I want it to be. But let me tell you, it was a tough month. It just warms my heart that the post about my horrific haircut was one of my commented on posts EVER! So many of you offered suggestions and sympathy, but one of you went way beyond the call of blogging duty and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse: custom-made earrings!!

The lovely blogger who immediately offered to make me a pair of earrings is Erin over at Treasures Found: Inspiration Is Everywhere and the creative genius behind Tesori Trovati. When Erin first offered to make me some earrings, I turned her down. But she pretty much insisted, so I graciously accepted. She then proceeded to send me not one, not two, but three pairs of earrings. Let me show them to you. (Although the photos don’t really do them justice. They are much prettier in real life.)

    The three pairs of earrings
I told her I liked dangly ones and not too heavy
All three pairs make me feel girly and special and funky
    I LOVE THEM!

    Now for some close-ups.

    Simply Aqua
    Natural aquamarine with brass wires

    Calico Blooms
Czech. pressed glass petals, brass caps, wires, Swarvoski crystals
    These might be my favorite
Forgive the shadow as I bend over them to take the photo

    Ready for Anything
Poppy jasper, Swarovski crystals, silver plated
    Designed by her daughter!

    Thank you so much, Erin!
    I wear them everyday!
    You’re the best!

And if you are looking for unique, hand-crafted jewelry,
    check out Erin’s amazing collection.

And I’m happy to announce that the award for Excessively Short Hair now belongs to the Little One, who recently got a haircut that enables you to see his scalp. Here I am (in my now passably short hair) passing the baton to the Little One.
Good Lord! How many chins do I have!!!

Thrilled to finally NOT have the shortest hair in the family,

Those are pretty earrings! The perfect antidote for a too short haircut.

It really did perk me up and make me feel girly.

I saw your article Goldilocks And The Three Bloggers mentioned on Sneaky Momma Blog Design and thought I'd pop over to check it out. It was a good read.

And I hear you about bad haircuts! I've been shaving my head once a year in support of childhood cancer research since 2007. Next time will be 4/15/10.

As you say it takes a good month of re-growth to get past that awkward looking stage.

You look great!! Love the hair and the earrings!!

My Little One asked that you give your Little One a big hug and kiss from her and tell him she misses him a lot!

      Miss you guys!

      Have a great Holiday!

I'm not jealous, I'm not jealous, lol. I love Erin's creations! Beautiful! I would think they would have been a huge help to feel more girlie. :)

Love the earrings and love the new look! I let most of my holes grow over (I had five; I'm now down to one, but it's high on my ear and I never change the earring) — I miss wearing dangly earrings!

They look very pretty on you! I'm an artist, too who paints and makes jewelry. That's so thoughtful and generous of her to send you such a gift! :)

I just realized I read your posting but never commented.

Hair is looking good. And Little One's hair is also looking good. We keep T Rex's pretty short. Personally I like it.

Question is, does he get to wear the earrings too?!?

Your hair looks so great now! THe earrings and wonderful, too. What a thoughtful gift!
Do you know how many pictures of me I've tossed because of the infamous multi-layered-chin?

      Chins?? I'll show you chins!!!
(I have a fat neck too!)

I'm glad your hair has grown quickly and is where you want it now. Bad haircuts can be scaring! I remember hiding in the closet after my first (and only!) short hair cut. (I was 9, you can't fault me for hiding!)

Aw, shucks, Jen! It was nothing!
You do nothing but make me snort and chortle with laughter every single time I visit your world. (I might not get in so much trouble for reading things I shouldn't while at work if you were any less hilarious!) Thanks so much for the shout out… my goal is to be selling on Etsy by the end of Q1…that gives me oh… 3 days! I will have something set up to sell online soon!
You are the best. And you are totally rocking the hair and the earrings!
      Enjoy the day!

Love the earrings AND the haircut!
I hate miserable haircuts and that most awkward waiting stage… Oi! What's a girl to do, but wear fabulous earrings!

I love what you've done with the place! I haven't been here in AGES, but now that I have a bit more freedom (read as: no job) I'll be around a bit more! YAY for reading blogs again!

What beautiful earrings, how nice of Olivia to think of you.
I like your hair! And you do not have chins.
Little one gets his hair cut like Monsieur Titi. But I'm sure it's easy to keep for him.

Hey! There's that Judi Dench look you were going for. ;) Be sure and keep this pic to show the stylist next time!

And we're not ready for really short hair here yet with the kid — still too cold!

How nice about the earrings! And I love the calico blooms! Does anyone need my address? Oh wait, I don't have pierced ears! Rats! But they're so pretty, somehow I want them anyway! :–)

The hair looks marvy! But I still think you would have rocked out the cap with hair attached thingy!

My sister-in-law shaved her head in anticipation of chemo hair loss – but she said she only lost hair in the back and on the sides.

She's now sporting a wig with highlights…and my brother isn't too happy about it.

He said she's the most beautiful bald woman he's ever seen.

Maybe that's why they're still married after 40+ years.

The hair looks great! The earrings look great! Everything is great!

(By the way, today I thought of you. Because I dyed my hair. And let's just say it's… it's… Well, I thought of your hair cut from hell, and that should just about explain it. Cry!)

You look great..I didn't even notice the chins until you pointed them out. Little one's hair is looking like my little one. I took him today and he got a short around the edges look and has spikey bangs. He thinks he's all that. I'll have to post his picture. I feel like crap. Have my welcome to spring cold. Need to be in bed.

Your hair looks great now! It really did grow into the perfect shape. Now go back and show that stylist to do it like "this" next time, LOL.

The earrings are lovely and look great on you.
