• 10 Years of Marriage! To Celebrate, We’re Going To…

    Paris ...

    Venice...

    Rome...

    and Egypt!

And all without our child (who will be lovingly and responsibly taken care of by his beloved aunts)!!!

(Romeo will also be taken care of by the aunts. He just doesn’t know it yet.)

Mr. Jenners and I thought we’d celebrate our 10 year anniversary in style, so we planned a trip that would make both of us very happy. (We’ve been planning it since last year.) We decided to treat ourselves all the way—flying first class there and back, getting picked up in a stretch limousine, and staying in a luxurious hotel. “Whhhaaaatttt?” you’re probably thinking. “Did Jenners win the lottery and not tell us about it?” Well, perhaps I gave the impression that we’re going on a far-flung and exotic trip. In fact, we’re actually going no more than a 5-hour plane ride away. Have you guessed where we’re actually going yet? If you guessed…

    Las Vegas

…then you are smarter than I gave you credit for! We’ll be staying in Caesar’s Palace, visiting Paris (the casino), the Venetian, the Luxor and all the rest of the delightfully fun places that dot the Strip. We’ve got tickets to the Cirque Du Soleil and we plan on making the most of this rare opportunity to be by ourselves by treating ourselves and not cheaping out (as I tend to do). (The regret will come when the credit card bill arrives next month. Until then, I’ll just adopt Scarlett O’Hara’s attitude: “Well I won’t think about this now. I’ll think about it tomorrow.”)

This will be our third Vegas Cirque Du Soleil show. Anyone see it? I hope it rocks!

I can think of no better way to celebrate 10 years of marriage together. (Our actual anniversary is May 19th.) Obviously, I’ll be taking a blogging break during this time (sorry … I’ve got to devote myself to relaxing and napping and reading and eating Mr. Jenners during this romantic getaway). I’ll be back (sadly) before you know it so be good and I’ll catch up with you upon my return!

What a great anniversary trip idea!! Glad that it was a hit. Maybe I’ll ask for Paris for my 20th (2 years away)??? Now if only I could convince hubby….

      • 06/03/2012 at 5:20 pm

Go ahead and ask for Paris. If nothing else, maybe you’ll get the same Paris I got!

    2. 05/28/2012 at 2:02 pm

First, congrats on your anniversary! Second I’m a sucker and figured you were going to Paris. Lol. Vegas is a good second choice though and I bet you and Mr. Jenners had an awesome time which I’m about to go read about.

    3. 05/24/2012 at 3:58 pm

Oh what was it like flying first class? Was it worth the extra money?

    4. 05/24/2012 at 8:00 am

Awesome. I don’t even remember what we did for our 10 year anniversary. Wait, maybe that was our Europe trip? More like 12 year anniversary, but I think it counts. Looks like you had a grand time. And I would have been thrilled to wave at you in your limo, seriously – you are not a fraud.

      • 05/24/2012 at 8:27 pm

Thanks for not thinking we were a fraud. Yet if you saw a limo pull up and us two schlubs got out, you’d probably think “Oh” in a disappointed way! ;)

    5. 05/23/2012 at 1:06 pm

      Happy Anniversary!

    6. 05/22/2012 at 7:09 pm

I read your trip review first, and wanted to say our anniversary is May 19th too, and this year was 22 for us. I was in and out of Vegas last week on my way to my daughter’s National college softball tournament. We did walk over to the Bellagio and see the fountains. I’m not a gambler so none of that for me.

      • 05/22/2012 at 8:24 pm

Congrats on your 22 years!! May 19th must be a lucky wedding day!! Perhaps we crossed paths in Vegas without even knowing it!!! Did you get to see the garden in Bellagio? So lovely!

What a fabulous place to celebrate! My husband loves Vegas, and I do enjoy poker slots but prefer lounging by the pool by day and eating and seeing shows by night:) Love the Bellagio, but have only stayed at MGM Grand, Mirage, Aladdin and Monte Carlo. Last visit for us was 9/11….will never forget it

Glad u had a fabulous time.

      • 05/22/2012 at 8:13 pm

Oh man … I can’t imagine being there during 9/11. I’m sure that stays with you. I love that if you are married to a “gambler,” there is still plenty of other stuff you can do if you don’t enjoy gambling.

Congratulations on making it to the ten year mark. I just got back from dinner with friends and they were talking about how Love was one of the best Cirque shows they have ever seen. Sounds like it will be worth every penny. Have fun.

      LOL You’re hilarious! Happy Anniversary!!!!

My 10 year anniversary is in march 2014 and I had thought I’d like to go to Paris but NO WAY we’ll be in a place to afford that by then… I was going to ask how you did that in a year, hahah!!

Hope you’re having a great time and I can’t wait to hear about it AND about the beatles thing!

    17. 05/18/2012 at 7:58 am

Happy Anniversary! I hope you have a fantastic and wonderful trip. I’ve seen Cirque du Soleil’s La Mystere, which was great fun. A friend from high school is the singer so provides the music. I would love to see the Beatles so can’t wait for your report. I am glad to hear you are pampering yourselves!

Have a fabulous time! Maybe you’ll get lucky at the slots and be able to pay for the trip. Honestly, that happened to us. We were sitting at a bar and I was playing slots and won a tidy bundle of cash that just about paid for the little jaunt. On the way back to the hotel, TBG saw a machine just like I was playing and said it worked for me, maybe for him too. And it did! Who says drinking and gambling are wrong?? Bwahahahahah.

    19. 05/17/2012 at 9:55 am

Oh wow – that sounds like lots and lots of fun! Have a wonderful anniversary!

Don’t miss the Blue Man Group while you are there. It’s phenomenal!! Well worth it. Ohhh, and CSI in the MGM Grand was a blast…fun to play in.

      Enjoy a great celebration -

    23. 05/17/2012 at 12:39 am

Congrats on 10 years! My husband and I always take a trip on our anniversary in lieu of buying gifts. Such a great way to spend time together. And I LOVE Vegas. Went this past September and had an absolute blast. I’m sure the expense will be worth it and I hope y’all have a marvelous time!

    24. 05/16/2012 at 11:50 pm

How fun! I haven’t seen LOVE, but I’ve never seen a bad Cirque du Soleil show…I’m sure it’ll be fabulous!

    25. 05/16/2012 at 10:29 pm

Bon voyage, have a wonderful time and maybe you’ll win big and pay that credit card bill.

Happy happy anniversary to you and Mr. Jenners! What a fun trip y’all will be going on! Are you going to see Phantom of the Opera while you’re there? I’ve heard the pyrotechnics are amazing for the Vegas Phantom…and Cirque – what fun and so romantic
Be safe but have an amazing time enjoying each other

    33. 05/16/2012 at 3:35 pm

I looooovvvveee Vegas. Brian and I actually went there for our honeymoon. It’s a yearly trip we take; although we missed out this past year because of the Madinut. I hope you have tons of fun!

    34. 05/16/2012 at 2:43 pm

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! We’re headed back again soon, too, the Bellagio this trip. Too bad we won’t be there at the same time – we could wave at each other!

Enjoy your dream vacation!! I look forward to hearing all about it when you return to blogland.

    35. 05/16/2012 at 2:35 pm

I went grudgingly to “LOVE” when we lived in Vegas and had out-of-town guests who wanted to see it. I LOVED it. The music, the energy, the visual effects… all amazing. It was a wonderful experience. I hope you enjoy it as much as we all did.

Have you been to Vegas before?? It’s a crazy town but there is so much to do. Make sure you see a show!

Our anniversary is on the 21st (18 years!). Happy Anniversary to you! Enjoy it.

    37. 05/16/2012 at 12:51 pm

You are so funny! Congratulations, and enjoy your trip to Las Vegas!

    38. 05/16/2012 at 12:06 pm

So, so cool! I hope that you have a wonderful time! My husband visited Las Vegas when he was young and has some great memories of it. I also know that you will love Cirque de Soleil as well. It was kind of weird and wild, but also colorful and wonderful!

    39. 05/16/2012 at 11:47 am

      Congratulations!

I’m hardly jealous at all. AT ALL.

    40. 05/16/2012 at 11:47 am

happy anniversary! This year would be our 9th (in july) I hope you enjoy your trip!!

    41. 05/16/2012 at 11:34 am

10 years!!! That’s wonderful. I’ve been wanting to see the Beatles musical forever. And May 19th is my birthday, so I already knew it was an awesome day.

    42. 05/16/2012 at 11:18 am

I hope you have time to eat at the Paris buffet — it’s all French, and it’s wonderful! Have a great time. I’ve seen several Cirque du Soleil shows but not the Beatles show. I have the soundtrack and it’s great. Have a great time, can’t wait to hear about it.

Love this post! So you! Happy Anniversary;-)

    44. 05/16/2012 at 10:01 am

Congratulations!!!!! Sounds like a wonderful trip. We are celebrating our 30th this summer and are contemplating renewing our vows in Vegas. Unfortunately, we have one child who is still under 21, so that may get put on hold till next summer when we’re all legal. (Hard to believe that in two more weeks I will no longer have any teenagers! – but that’s beside the point.) I envy you going first-class all the way. Maybe I’ll start saving my pennies so we can do that next summer.

      Have a great time!

    45. 05/16/2012 at 9:48 am

Congratulations to you both, enjoy your trip.

    46. 05/16/2012 at 9:25 am

Well, I didn’t guess anything. duh. (as in, duhmb) I love going to Las Vegas precisely because of all the little fake big places. Okay, so my favorite frozen yogurt place in Las Vegas (I know you want to know) is Blizz in the Mirage. It’s near the pool so husbands can sit and watch the girls go the pool while wives stuff their faces. Worked for me!

    47. 05/16/2012 at 9:11 am

Well happy anniversary to you both and enjoy your trip! I haven’t seen Cirque du Soleil, but on our cruise, we saw a performance group that was similar, and it was absolutely amazing, best performance of the whole vacation. If it’s anything like that, I suspect it will be a stunner!

    48. 05/16/2012 at 8:31 am

Happy anniversary! So exciting that you made big plans. We couldn’t find anyone to watch our kids for our tenth (we just celebrated 11 in December), so we’ll have to wait until our fifteenth to do something extravagent. Have fun!

And I totally didn’t figure out that it was Vegas. It seemed so feasible to do Paris, Rome, and Venice, then when I got to the Egypt part I was a little confused as to how that would logistically work. Haha! I am dumb.

    49. 05/16/2012 at 8:30 am

I’d love to go to Las Vegas – especially without any children! Have a wonderful time!

    50. 05/16/2012 at 8:22 am

      A decade deserves commemoration!

    51. 05/16/2012 at 8:15 am

Happy Anniversary! Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Happy 10th Anniversary. Enjoy your vacation!

    52. 05/16/2012 at 8:04 am

Happy anniversary and to many more beautiful years together!
I’ve never been to Vegas but it’s on my bucket list, along with India, France and Spain.
      Will you gamble?

    53. 05/16/2012 at 8:02 am

Have a great time! I have never been to Vegas and would like to see it someday.

    54. 05/16/2012 at 7:54 am

Happy anniversary! We’ll celebrate 33 years on Saturday and I have a feeling my husband won’t even remember it.

    55. 05/16/2012 at 7:37 am

Happy anniversary! I’m sure you’ll have a blast!

    56. 05/16/2012 at 6:54 am

Hey I totally get that. My husband and I got married in Vegas, and have been back countless times. So much fun, so much over-stimulation, money, hedonism, extravagance and glitter! You are going to have a ball. Take lots of pictures!

    57. 05/16/2012 at 6:20 am

Enjoy your little vacation. And congratulations on your 10 year anniversary.
