Thought I’d mix up my giveaway winner announcement with a little song parody. Oh, and by the way, Melissa from Avid Reader’s Musings, you’re the winner of the book!

Sung to the tune of Norwegian Wood by the Beatles

I once had a book, or should I say, a book once had me…
It showed me life in Japan, isn’t it good, norwegian wood?

The book was written by Haruki and it was easy to read
I thought it would be weird but I noticed it wasn’t

I sat in my chair, reading each page, drinking in prose
I read until two and then my husband said, “It’s time for bed”

The book was about Toru and Nakao and Midori and their lives.
There was sex and there was sadness and suicides

And when I was done, I was content, this book was good
So I had a giveaway, isn’t it good, norwegian wood.

Soon to be living a new life in Melissa's house

I am very impressed, Jenners! That is more than I can do, as poetry or any sort of lyric writing was always beyond my ken.

      Congrats to the winner!

Well, considering I just changed words of someone else’s song, it isn’t that impressive actually.

Oh, you had me singing along! You did a great job writing those lyrics to meet that very specific and memorable melody. Are you ready to be a songwriter now???

      • 06/03/2012 at 5:21 pm

I’m a song appropriator more than a songwriter.
