Winners … Plus A New Blog Header Concept
by Jenners • 05/09/2012 • Giveaway • 51 Comments
As usual, I spaced out the part of the giveaway where I actually pick the winners and announce them. So, without further ado, here are the winners from my April giveaway:
- Emmy from Emmy Mom won Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
- Vicki from I’d Rather Be Reading At the Beach won Skipping A Beat by Sarah Pekkanen
- Anne B. won Cruising Attitude by Heather Poole.
All winners have been notified via e-mail, and I hope to get the books in the mail by the end of the week. I’ve decided not to do monthly giveaways any more. Instead, when I have a book I’m going to give away, I’ll add the giveaway form into the review post. I’m also going to limit the giveaway timeframe to a week or so instead of a month. Stay tuned … I expect to have the next book I’m giving away up soon.
* Why yes … that is my real body. Thank you for asking.**
** If you believe that, I have a bridge I want to sell you in Texas. (Or something like that. I never remember how that goes.)***
*** Do you think I could attract more male readers if I used the photo above in my blog header? I think I have about 5 male readers now. If you are a male reader, please identify yourself in the comment section. I’m just curious as I think my female to male readership is something like 75 to 1.

I am a male reader.
Noted.
Yes, he is married, to my husband’s sister. And he’s the funniest person I’ve ever known. I don’t care what the situation, he can make you laugh till you cry. And, he is also a Pastor… a very funny Pastor.
We’re going out with him and his wife tomorrow night, to a restaurant that also has karaoke! I know my sides will be sore by the time I get home!
Have a great weekend~
A funny pastor … that would make me attend church! Have a great weekend … and sing a song for me!
I’d love to introduce you to my brother in law. You both are seriously funny!!
And…thanks for the book win!
I was going to ask if your BIL was married (but, but definition, I guess he is). I’m sure if he saw my “photo” he’d be very interested in meeting me! HAHA! The book is on its way to you. Hope you enjoy it!
Lovely! You are so funny.
Glad you enjoyed. You can’t go wrong with Face In Hole posts!
LOL! I just think that there are far more women than men reading and writing blogs.
I guess men don’t need to sit around writing about their lives all day!! HAHA!
I think my ratio is like 90-10 so you are doing better crossing the gender gap than me.
And yea! So excited I won. You got my email with my addy right?
I’m not sure about my math but if you have 10 male readers, that is double my male readership.
And oh yeah … I sent the book to you yesterday. Look for it in the mail.
I want to thank you, I needed that laugh, at first I thought, boy she’s got great legs. And then… You kill me. Congratulations to the winners.
I love that … even for .0000004445 seconds … you might have actually thought that was me.
When I sent you that picture of me, it was for private use only… Please stope putting your face over mine! Seriously. Stop. lol
Good one … though people may wonder what you are doing sending me sexy photos of yourself … HAHA!
why you are such a leggy woman?! LOL Love it!
My contests usually run for two weeks and it takes me forever as well to either pick winners or post them.
Hey, it’s the thought that counts
That’s what I think … I’m giving away books are my own expense and I’m not some major corporation with laws and rules governing me. I’ll continue along in my slipshod way… because I can!!
I have to admit I had a hard time taking my eyes off the books in the header long enough to check out the body we probably all wish we had. It looks like a rather precarious situation being surrounded by all those books!
I like the sound of your new give-away rules (which you’re always so generous to do anyway) since the book will be fresh on our minds when given the opportunity to sign up for it. (was that a rambling sentence or not?!)
Congrats to your winners this time!
Glad you think the new giveaway “rules” are good. I think you’re right … it helps to make you decide if you want a book by having the form right after you read the review.
wow Jenners that’s one really hot body you have going on there! Perhaps you should consider modeling!
Well, I don’t want to threaten other women and make them feel bad. : ) (That body actually belongs to Pam Anderson by the way. )
You crack me up! I especially love how you’re not afraid to show a “little” leg.
A “little” leg … I think I’m showing the whole thing!
HAHAHAHAHAHA. . .YOU ARE HILARIOUS!!!
Congrats to the lucky giveaway winners!
I haven’t done Face in Hole for awhile … it is always an “easy” laugh and a fun post.
Jenners, you’re looking better every day! Lol. I have a few male readers that I know of but I bet there are more that lurk around.
Why thank you. I’ve been working out. : )
I don’t think a header is what brings male followers. You have to toss in some searchable terms that click with males once in awhile to bring them in. That way you show up in their search engines. Changing the name of a blog would affect traffic, certainly, but not so much the header unless they stumble across it accidentally and then think…wow… great legs. I think I’ll hang around. LOL.
I like what you have. You don’t need to change for anyone. Your stuff is funny to both males and females alike. Maybe the books you read attract more females to your blog. I read dark stuff. The other thing too is that males don’t comment a lot but I find that they are the ones that follow me the most.
Maybe if I changed my blog title to Life..With Boobs. That would be just a one letter change and I bet I could get a whole new demographic!! HAHA! Not that I’m really looking to change it up or anything but blogging does seem to skew female from what I’ve seen.
I know some of my male readers don’t comment. Ron will say something to me about a blog post, and sometimes my male FB friends will comment about something I’ve said in the context of something else, but they don’t always want to go “on the record.”
Hmmm…that is very interesting. I wonder if blogging is viewed as “feminine” or something.
Oh no, are those wedges coming back? Congrats to the book winners.
Yes … so get your pair right away! : )
Oh yes, Jenners, that header should garner much male attention! I only have one or 2 male followers as well, which makes me think that book blogging is a girl’s game. I would love it if the guys started reading! Also, Congratulations to your winners!
Blogging (or book blogging) does seem to be a girl’s game. But are there more women readers than men or just more women book bloggers? Or is there some secret community of male book bloggers out there we don’t know about? I’m curious about that as I think men read just as much as women. (Or maybe not. Most of the men in my life aren’t really readers.)
With a header like this it could be argued that you might get more male readers/followers, the question being, would you want them if the only thing of appeal about your wonderful blog was your legs?
You make a good point. I plan to lure them in with “legs” and then keep them with my sharp wit and incisive book reviews. HAHA!
wow, you’ve been working out!
I like your new concept for giveaways. Yes, I think that may be easier!
My new giveaway concept will be easier. Plus I won’t totally forget about it. Plus it seems that entries drop off after a week or so anyway.
I figured that was your body but why are you wearing red shoes with that outfit? lol Congratulations to the winners!!
I wear the red shoes to draw attention to my legs. In case you didn’t notice them in that outfit. HAHA!
I don’t know the gender of my followers, but as for commenters, there is rarely a male among the bunch. So I’d say the number of males interested in me is sort of like real life…..
You and me both. And I don’t think I can even count Mr. Jenners as one of my “followers.” He follows me on Twitter and 9 times out of 10, skips my posts unless he thinks he is mentioned in them or wants credit for a photo.
Yeah but men do like those FMPs, and a show of leg. It might work. I agree with you, I think I have maybe two or three male followers.
I’m so out of it … what are FMPs?
Love the new blog header! And what I want to know is how well do you walk in those shoes? And on those legs??? LOL
Very very very carefully.
GORGEOUS LEGS….Jenners LOL
I just think there are way more females blogging than males. I find the same to be true here, and I don’t have legs like yours:)
I agree … blogging (at least book blogging) seems to be a female thing. (And ssssshhh…I don’t have legs like “me” either.)
