The Giveaway That Almost Never Happened
by Jenners • 09/04/2012 • Giveaway • 39 Comments
Remember back in JULY when I posted a giveaway for three books (The Namesake, A Northern Light and The Slap)? Well, if you remembered, you’re better than me because I forgot ALL ABOUT IT until today. (I hope I don’t get my blogging license revoked for Giveaway Neglect.) My apologies for the delay … and if the winners don’t want the books anymore (or already bought them or swapped them in the meantime), I’ll pick some new names.
- Alyce at At Home With Books is the winner of The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri
- Kayla at Shut the Fridge is the winner of A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly
- Michelle of One Crafty Mama is the winner of The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas

It’s nice to know I’m not the only way who gets the “Giveaway Neglect Bug!”
Congrats to the winners and I love the cartoon! I’m printing it out for my bulletin board at my desk!
As a side note – I am finally reading a Jennifer Donnelly book (Revolution) and have decided she is one of my new favorite authors! Love her way of incorporating the past with the present.
I’m glad I’m not alone in being remiss on my giveaways. I felt so embarrassed!!! And Jennifer Donnelly is really amazing. I haven’t read Revolution yet but I hear it is one of her best.
Love the cartoon!
Oh that reminds me- my giveaway ends tomorrow! Thanks for the heads up
I’m happy to save you from my own giveaway faux pas!
ADORABLE == I am hoping for little “Capulet-Montagues” in the future. Best of Luck with this frisky duo.
Well that just isn’t going to happen!! I can guarantee it! : )
OMG, that cartoon is so me.
I’m glad I’m not alone in … wait … what were we talking about?
It was the summer. I completely lose my head in the summer. Totally excusable. It happens. Congrats to the winners!
I blame summer for A LOT!
Congratulations to the winners, and don’t feel bad about the neglect. It’s happened to me before as well.
I’m glad I’m not alone in this forgetfulness.
Congrats to the winners and lol about Giveaway Neglect Jenners
I can relate sista.
I think it is common disease in Blogging Town.
{{what difference does it make since I didn’t win…grumble…grumble…}}
HEY, CONGRADS TO THE WINNERS!
The thing I like about you is your sincerity.
I’ve been riding two packages around in my car for over a month
I didn’t know we could get our licenses revoked
Thanks for making me feel much better!!! : )
Oh well, better late than never and there are worse blogger crimes than Giveaway Neglect – I just can’t think of any at present, she says laughing.
Ha! I hope the Blogging Tribunal doesn’t come after me!
Mom brain. No worries. However, good choice in cartoon.
Mom brain covers a lot of “whoops” doesn’t it?
Congrats to the winners!!
Ooops! Hilarious cartoon!
Thanks Jenners! I think we all have our moments like that.
That is my hope … so I’m not alone feeling like a dingbat.
It’s never to late to give something away. However my name is missing. lol
Whoops … another mistake!
Congrats to the winners! It’s never too late to find out that you’ve won a book!
I agree! Unless, of course, you went out and bought in the meantime.
I have a question, if you win a book, and forgot you won it, and by the time UPS or post delivers, are you required to review it, or can I just mention my good fortune on the blog. What are the blogger rules on this?
You are not required to review books you won … just books you accepted for review. So says I!
Congratulations to the winners. Thanks for stopping by, I’ve started to read When Skippy Dies and decided it needed my undivided attention, so it’ll be next, after This is Where I leave you. I just suck at reading two books at a time. thanks for suggesting Skippy.
I’m glad you are liking Skippy! And I think you’ll like This Is Where I Leave You too!
I have a feeling no one remembered! Congratulations to the winners!
I guess I could have just saved myself the postage expenses!
If they take your license, they better take mine too. I have done that more times then I cane to admit. I am in the process of setting up a new shelf system to help me have a place for books won and to prep them for packaging as well as a more organized book system all together. I really cant wait
That sounds like a good plan. If nothing else, I should start adding my giveaways to my personal calendar so I’ll remember about them.
