Thanksgiving Tag Turkey

In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S., I turning my ongoing game of Tag Chicken with Trisha into Tag Turkey. Here we go with the latest round of questions.
- Family Guy, The Simpsons, or South Park? Well, we can eliminate South Park right off the bat. I get it, but it grates on my nerves after a bit. The genius and longevity of The Simpsons cannot be denied. However, I’ve slowly turned into a Family Guy fan. Its absurdity and sense of timing can be genius. It can also be awful and offensive and just downright creepy (that whistling old man character gives me the willies.) Also, I kind of have a crush on its creator Seth MacFarlane But, in the end, I have to go with that American treasure, The Simpsons! Here’s to another 100 years of excellent shows!
- Cliffhanger endings or pointless second installments? Well, if there is a cliffhanger ending, I pretty much need the second installment, right? So that makes it not pointless. But are you saying they should just go ahead and finish up the book after the cliffhanger instead of making us wait? I’m not sure what you’re asking!! OK … here’s my thoughts. If you end on a cliffhanger, you better have enough material to justify another installment. If you don’t, then just finish the book in one shot.
- Oranges or grapes? There is nothing like a good juicy orange. However, I can’t always find good juicy oranges … they are often dry and icky and you just can’t tell from the outside. So grapes are more reliable but probably not as good. So grapes ….?
- Plumber’s cracks or hairy knuckles? Must I really choose one? Neither. Hairy plumber’s crack perhaps and no knuckles? The weird thing is that as I’m typing this answer, there is a plumber in my house. However, he is buttoned up tight. No cracks or anything. Whew!
- Garden hoses or bonfires? What the hell kind of question is this? Were you up too late with your Nutter when you wrote these questions? That is like asking: scrambled eggs or music boxes? I just don’t know where to go with it. So .. errr… uhhh…bonfires?
In keeping with the theme of Tag Turkey, here are my five questions for Trisha:
- What five things in your life are you most thankful for?
- What is the best part of the Thanksgiving meal?
- Who is the biggest turkey in Hollywood?
- When is the earliest acceptable date to decorate for Christmas? (Hint: I have rather strong feelings about this so BEWARE!)
- Pumpkin pie, apple pie or cherry pie?
For my American readers, wishing you a happy Thanksgiving! Let’s celebrate with some cartoons! Click on the cartoons for the source. There are tons more of these … all very funny.

I love your answers! And who says questions have to mean anything. I just wanted to see what you would do with it.
My round should be up in the next day or so.
You make a good point … I was like “wtf is she asking here.” Can’t wait to see your answers.
“Garden hoses or bonfires? What the hell kind of question is this?” You are just my favorite.
Awww…shucks. I try … I want to be your favorite.
I’ve considered piercing my waddle for years! Hope you had a yummy day
Wasn’t that the funniest cartoon ever!!??? I just cracked up when I saw it.
Jenners, the prettiest oranges are not always the juiciest. Here’s a tip; pick up a few oranges one by one. The heaviest one for it’s size is most likely the juiciest. If you can get honeybells up there, they are fabulous but their season is short.
Thank you for the tip!! I knew a Floridian could help me out!!!
Stop the Tag Game? Blasphemous, I say! Just blasphemous.
Garden hoses or bonfires response made me laugh out loud! You should have asked her scrambled eggs or music boxes in your questions, too. Too funny. I wonder if she was saying do you like the summer fun of drinking from a garden hose or the autumn fun of a bonfire? Yea, I got nothing.
Hope you and the fam had a good Thanksgiving, too!
I’m glad you didn’t know what she meant either!! : )
WE did have a good Thanksgiving — I hope you all did as well!
As usual, your humor shines through, and some of your responses are hilarious! I wouldn’t know how to respond to “Garden hoses or bonfires?” either. Excellent post, and I enjoyed the cartoons.
Glad I wasn’t alone in my confusion about garden hoses and bonfires!
I would say The Simpsons too – just watched one of our favorites a few days ago – the one where Homer goes to space.
Love that one! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
It is amazing how long The Simpsons has been on … and how funny and relevant it still is.
I think I would go with the hairy knuckles as I just wouldn’t notice those as much but plumber but yea so hard to miss that. Of those shows totally Simpsons for me.
It is hard to ignore a plumber’s crack, isn’t it?
pumpkin…the King of Pies!
let’s not even start about the plumber crack..I just ate dinner.
I agree — all hail the pumpkin pie!
We have the same taste Jenners
I have a Seth MacFarlane crush too…lol…can’t wait to see him host the Oscars. He is a riot.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I’m going to watch the Oscars just to see what he does. He is like Ricky Gervais … he could go really off script and it might be insane!
I’m thankful that you are so silly. You make me laugh all of the time! Have a fantastic day!
I am silly. I should have been named that I think. ; )
Love all the cartoons, especially the first.
I’ll agree with you on the first question, too. While I’m not a real fan of any of those shows, the times I’ve watched Family Guy I’ve seen some brilliant moments. (though I’ll admit Stewie creeps me out a bit) Have you seen the one with the “Ole Yeller” reference?
Not sure I’ve seen the Old Yeller reference in Family Guy yet. I can only imagine. It is a bit uneven but has moments of greatness.
These crack me up. Love the cartoons!
Happy Thanksgiving to you. Hope you have a happy, healthy holiday.
I know! That first cartoon just gave me the giggles. I knew I had to share. Hope your holiday was wonderful.
Damn girl, you are industrious on Thanksgiving. I don’t watch much TV, but my son absolutely LOVES Family Guy. And I would take hairy knuckles any freaking day over an ass crack, which could further be pimply and hairy.
Family Guy is a very “guy” show. I’ve slowly grown to like it but it is an acquired taste for sure!
Love the questions…and answers!
Happy Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday as well.
Great post, I always love your Tag games.
Happy thanksgiving to you and yours.
I’m glad you enjoy the tag games. I always wonder if people are sick of them. I like doing them though so I guess I don’t really care! HAHA!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
I have strong feelings about Christmas decorating too. I wouldn’t even let my guys put out beer with Christmas in the name until tomorrow! lol
Good for you!! I saw at least six houses with full Christmas lights and trees up BEFORE Thanksgiving. So so wrong. The number doubled on my walk tonight.
Ha ha – that last cartoon certainly applies to me!
Enjoy your day!
I hear you. I can’t cook like my mother … or my father for that matter.
Oh, Mrs. J., every time I get dry, icky oranges, I feel like a failure as a wife, mother, and shopper. I’m so glad you can’t tell from the outside either!
The first cartoon is hilarious.
I’m glad I’m not alone in this failure to pick good oranges. I wonder if there is a way to tell if they are good. I hesitate to buy many because if they are duds, then I’m stuck with a bunch.
But Mom! All the cool guys have pop up thermometers!?! You are so unfair! Happy Thanksgiving!
Wasn’t that the funniest cartoon? It just cracked me up.
Love that last cartoon!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with the special people in your life Jenners. I count you and other bloggers in the things I am thankful for.
And I count you among my blessings as well. : )
Great cartoons! Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family!!!
Same to you! I hope your feast was fulfilling and delicious. I know that you, like me, are all about the food holidays.
